Home Automation hardware in use
I don't have a PC running 24/7 just for my Home Automation. I used to, but not anymore.
Not since i built a new fileserver in April 2008, with these specs:
- Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4 motherboard;
more..
- Intel Core2 Duo E8200 @ 2,66 GHz; more..
- 8 GB RAM;
- 2 x 250 GB OS Hard drives;
- 2 x 1 TB Hard drives for file storage.
This server is running on
MS Windows Server 2008 Standard x64. It has the
Hyper-V server role installed and i created a couple of Virtual Machines on it, one of them being a Domotica-VM.
Total power usage of this system, which is operational since May 2008, is 60-65W.
The most important interfaces i use to communicate with all the modules and sensors are:
- 1-Wire Serial adapter (DS9097U-S09)
